Subject: Original Sticker Price?

I couldn't find anything in the forum search, but I'm curious if there is a reference somewhere for what 2002's cost new. I'm thinking somewhere in the $3000-4000 range.

For those interested, here's a inflation conversion that converts that cost to today's weak-ass dollar: http://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm

My Parent's 2760007 '72 Tii in Feb '72 was $5300 or so. Weatherford BMW Berkeley CA.

A family friend's '73 2002 was around $5500 West Coast as far as I remember.

I don't have the original window sticker from my Granada '67 1600-2 right now but recall it was around $2400 from Weber Motors San Leandro CA. (No, I didn't buy it new as I'm only 33, but my family are the second owners)

My '73 2002tii purchased new in July, 1973 has a sticker of $5509. I still have the sticker. When I bought the car, the non tii was about $400 lower.

If you look up BMW 2002 in the Classic Car section of NADA.com they give the MSRP for each car. I looked up my 1976 and it was $6570. Try this link http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-22-1-5006-515-708-55711&l=1&w=22&p=1&f=5006&c=7&m=1026&da=1.

Subject: If memory serves, in 68 1600's were right at $2,500, & 2002

"list" prices were just under $2,900 (not counting Hoffman's mandatory "options" - tachometer, bumper over-riders, etc).

Subject: My '69 was $3452 with all the "non optional" options that

Max Hoffman put on all his cars, plus the one real option, a sunroof. No factory radio or other dealer-added stuff. The base price in ads was $2988, but that didn't include all Max's "options;" the sunroof was about $150 IIRC.

My '73 was about $4700 with a factory sunroof, dealer installed Blaupunkt radio and Frigiking A/C (that was about $500 of the price).

Those are the only ones I know for sure...

My 1974 Chamonix 4 speed 2002 was purchased 12/74 from Vasek Polak Manhattan Beach CA with sunroof but no A/C or radio and was $6900 out the door incuding tax/license. I drove it for 8 years and 140K miles, even towed my Hobie Cat with it.

I'd like the 1964 Pontiac convertible Mrs. Minot traded in on this vehicle. She got $300 for the Pontiac as trade-in.
