Subject: Trapezoid Mirrors!

A while ago I posted that I found a pair of trapezoid mirrors sitting in my garage. I finally got around to putting them on! Included is a before and after pic:

In re: bingbong and Pat Allen's query about the trapezoidal mirrors...

While they may look "spacie" that's the mirror that came from the factory on the 2002 between ~'71 and ~'75. Like it or not, that's just the way it was/is.

Are they rare? Well, they were unavailable for quite few years, and are again available...not cheap, but available.

These are not of a practical nor well-functioning design. They are smaller, more fragile, and provide too little rearward vision. An off-side mirror was not standard issue, so glancing over one's shoulder to change lanes is mandatory in traffic.

I've rebuilt my original-to-the-car mirror from various bits and pieces collected over the years. The quality of the first generation mirrors is far higher than their replacements.

Cheers!

Delia
