Subject: Cuban Barn Find

Everyone is used to seeing the old american iron on the streets in Cuba, but last week I was in a place where special permission is required, and was let in to this building. These are all nice but look at my next posting for the "Jewel". I'm limited on how many pics I can post.

Hey Harry
The only people who are getting a sneak peak at this stuff is the people who read this forum.
I wouldn't be surprised if i wasn't one of the first North Americans to be in this place, in the last 20 or 30 years.... and they didin't take digital pictures.
Maybe I should give B-J a call......or see if I can post on a Hispano Suiza site.

The Jag is an xk 140.
Healey isn't newer than '59.
I supsect they are real.

Cuba has racing history...although the one posted in this link isn't one of the shining moments in some people's eyes...... it is definitely the most famous.

From what I've heard they are not allowing any cars to be exported now, nor have they been for several years.
But that could change, as Raul is making some gradual changes.
As they say ," Fidel likes to talk, Raul likes to do."
Only time will tell.

Richard
I have no idea of the the value of these cars...don't even know if there are motors under the hoods.
But I am trying to get a value on the Hisapono Suiza. This car is so rare, that so far, I can't find much info on it.
But this morning I emailed these photos to a Restoration Guild, and I am looking forward to their response. I'll post here what they say.
If they don't know I guess the next call is to Jay Leno,...... as Benz recommended. :)

Cuban has been locked up for almost 50 years, who knows what else you are able to find. Once it opens there will be a horde of treasure hunters! Thanks for posting.
