Subject: What Hardware for Recaro Seat Adapter to Body??

After having some issues with my current seat connection, (see link for more info:)....

http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,301584/

....I purchased a Recaro seat adapter from a 320i off Ebay. Because my current seats ( flo-fit) had issues with how they were attached, I want to verify what hardware is used to connect this item to the car. I looked at a parts catalog on line to find the items, but was uncertain of what is correct.

I'm also a bit worried the seats will be sitting much higher than before, so any advice is welcome on how to maintain a lower sitting position.

thanks,

Baron

The four holes in the seat bracket bolt to the sheet-metal brackets mounted on the floorpan. The things with the bolts there bolt to the other half of the seat bracket, which bolts to the seat. The seat part of the bracket should have 3 holes to allow you to adjust the height of the seat.

I transferred Recaros with adaptors from a 2002 to a 320i and they fit perfectly with no seat position problem for me (I'm 6'). One could conclude that the reverse would also be the case and a 320i Recaro adaptor with seat would fit in a 2002. Good luck.

thanks for the responses. I'm not sure if my question was clear, but I'm looking for the actual specs for the hardware that connects the bracket to the car body. I don't think what the PO used was correct.

thanks,

B
