Is that a Manta or an Ascona?

Just thought I'd share.

Delia

Looks like a Manta. IIRC Asconas had a single headlight on each side.

I like those old Opels. There's a Kadett station wagon in the town I live that looks like it just came off the showroom floor.

Here's a RHD Ascona, circa 1970:

Subject: Delia - long story

I had the touring down in North Carolina and Brad Day, his sweetie, Anne Marie

and I were driving the Touring over to a parking lot. The lot was roped off, Brad jumped out to raise the rope and one of the workers there yells to Brad, "that is a nice looking Opel".

So with the humor Brad and AM always provide, the Touring became "Opel" that day.

Also, about six months ago, Hemmings ran a yellow Opel on the cover. I ran into the fellow and his cover car Opel in Pennsylvania. He took some picture of the Touring, now called Opel, and his cover car Opel. He was to send me those pictures but he never did. It is amazing how many similarities his Opel and my "Opel" had.

Best and thanks

Harry - I really like that "Crossflow" Opel with the flares and awesome rims (minus the big CROSSFLOW lettering tho'). What year/model is that one?

Tom, that is an Ascona A, built from 1970 to 1975.
