i know opinions are like a**holes, but i want to see em anyway.

i have 2 74 2002s

car 1

turbo flares, e36 sport seats, ireland eng sway bars, big brake upgrade. newish paint job, some nicks and dings, replacement trunk welded in after the original was crushed, and rusty floor pans.

I'm currently building an m10 with a 318 head, standalone ecu, and the turboz. along with a sweet 5 speed and lsd.

then comes along car #2
[no pics yet]
a engine-less body with amazing original, or possible respray, pastelblau paint, complete but disassembled interior, with spotless original seats.

I really love the turbo look, but i have some appreciation for stock with nice shiny trim and bumpers.

my options:
1) use car #1 as parts for a rebuild of #2, put in my turbo m20, leave the paint alone

2) do a full turbo bodywork upgrade on #2, then install the turbo driveline

3) put the turbo stuff in #1 and have fun with it while i spend 5 or 10 years attempting a restoration on #2 before i get tired and sell it for pennies on the dollar (the way i got it in the first place)

Option #3

Car #1 looks like a great car to go crazy with. It looks like you've got it most of the way there. Cosmetically, I'd also loose the wheels, adjust the suspension lower, and loose the air dam or get a different one. I know that wasn't the question, so anyway...

Car #2 sounds like a nice car and it would be a sin to throw all that newer crap into and ruin it. Spend the time you need on this car to make it right, or sell it to someone else who will.

Car #2 - Put a Metric Mechanic engine in it.

Car # 1 - Give it to some poor slob that doesn't have an 02....................................like me.

So, did #2 come out of a recent auction at an uptown location, and did you almost have it first time around for a Franklin? If so, glad to hear you got it after all. I was at the first, but couldn't make it to the second. I'd be curious to hear how that went.

5 or 10 years? It looked to be almost ready to roll.

Looks like you were building an engine/drivetrain setup for car #1 anyway. Car #2 give you a good place to put the original drivetrain and engine from the swap. Then, you'll avoid any spares and put a shell back out on the road. Car #2 sold with your old drive train might pay for your engine swap. Or go for clean original concours quality on #2 like the mobile tradition BMW. Super Clean & Totally Original.
