Subject: BMW will pay for all modifications!!!

Don't get too excited guys... I just read in the Roundel that BMW will pay the cost of modifying a BMW to allow disable drivers the pleasure to drive one! I don't know if all companies have similar program, but I have never seen a disable person driven one. I am sure this only applies to new cars.

It is too bad I can't come up with an angle to "take advantage" of this program!

What kind of 'disabilities' are we talkin about?

I'm not able to drive my BMW as fast as Heidfeld, Kubica, etc. drive their BMW automobiles. So, can BMW please help ease the pain of my disability and help me drive my car as fast as them? My painfully slow driving is really a crippling disorder.

Other manufacturers have that program. Ford, GM, Honda, Volvo, etc. These programs are not as well-known, but they are available to consumers and are also a very good marketing strategy.

That's not funny. A disability can happen to anyone, anytime and can drastically change your life. To make humor about not being able to drive like your favorite driver does not sit well in my book. I know because I work with people with disabilities and for them to not be able to drive at all is a true disability

Did you know that the highest risk group for spinal cord injuries or traumatic brain injuries is young men between ages 18-34 due to reckless and high-risk behavior? Don't be stupid and be careful out there, folks.

This gentleman was able to drive his 4 spd 02 spiritely on our drives, the clutch was manually activated and he wore a big roundel on his artificial leg. I truly admired how he was able to overcome his disability. After 5 minutes talking to the man, you would forget he even had a disability! He acted normal and even had a good sense of humor about his left leg. I believe he lives in Hawaii now...

BTW I don't think nobody is trying to say true disabilities are not serious.

I used to race bicyles with a guy that was missing his right arm. I rigged his bike so that he could shift everything with his left hand. He was probably the strongest seated sprinter I've ever seen. In fact, he's a multi-time World Disabled Track Champion. He also drove a standard car that wasn't modified at all. I was most impressed by the way he put his bike on the roof rack!
