Don't have any pics but I rode OLD Bridgestone Zip (hardtail) repainted black after disc provisions were added in the rear....

Marzocchi fork, XTR everything, Ritchie (WCS) bars & ends, headset, stem, seat & post, pedals, disc rims (XTR hubs)

I haven't ridden in almost four years. Last time I rode I dislocated my shoulder and haven't gotten on since. It was a solo singletrack ride on easy downhill winding terrain. I came around a tight corner and onto an AMC singletrack bridge (like a telephone pole cut in half the long way). I missed a transition from one plank to two planks and my front tire got wedged between the two... I went flying and landed with my right arm extended. It was a 5 mile hike out and hours before I was able to flag down a car.

I miss riding now that I think about it..... Thanks for the post!

STOLEN! Nothing to see. I was using it to follow my 3 year old on his new bike(I just took off the SPD's in favor of BMX pedals). Some lowlife dickhead stole it from my porch.

5/2005 I had an open reconstructive surgery to get things patched up. They put two screws in, took some bone from my collar bone to build up the shoulder socket & tightened up the loose tissue. Not even six months later I tore out the two screws and blew up the shoulder again. Second surgery was a year later 5/2006. They put in six screws, took bone from my collar bone & hip to REALLY build up the socket and screwd it in good.

I've dislocated my shoulder a total of 9 times where I've had to have medical assistance to get it back in and countless times other than that. I've been going to PT for three years non-stop, taking pain killers non stop for almost six years and now that the joint is getting better slowly I have nerve problems from the second surgery that cause chronic pain and musscle athrophy. I go to PT three times a week and still pop the pills to keep it managable. Although I have not ridden hard (off pavement) since then I have ridden on the road, still wrench my car, sail, and ski. I'm not letting anything hold me back ever....

88 Pinarello Montello SL, This is the frame mine is done up in Suntour Superbe Pro

I have a Bridgestone MB Zip also with a Manitou II on it. Plus my current MB is a Specialized M2 FS Pro Team bike.

To me, photos of a bicycle that isn't being ridden are not much use... unless of course someone just crashed in a dramatic way and you're taking photos of the yard sale that results.

This is my friend Drool immediately before a nice yard sale.

I ride a Niner SIR9 single speed with a mish-mash of parts on it.

Here it is with some fat guy riding it and pretending to be a racer.

Beautiful Pinarello. I smashed the heck out of a bike almost just like that on the front bumper of a Corvette (his fault, not mine). I was sad to see that one go.

As for the Bridgestone, didn't Grant Peterson build something into those frames that made them spontaniously combust if you ever put a suspension fork on it? ;) Just kidding. That's some old fart mountain bike humor.

Nice rides. :D

I kept the original fork to add back if I was ever to sell it but can't do that to a hand biult bike. It too has rebuildable Suntour parts. It has XC Pro on it.

It's fun to ride but it's now a roadie winter bike on slicks, The Pinarello I have had since new from Italy. Bought it when I was stationed at Comiso AS in Sicily. Loved Sicily.

I've wanted a bad boy for ages...

I have a Gitane Mach 2300. Carbon frame, carbon seat post, Ultega 10 speed, San Salle Carbon seat, Michelin Pro Race 2 tyres, mid range Shimano rims, profile carbon bidons... not a bad bike. My mate just got a Colnago C50 and I have major bike envy.

My dad rides a Scott C1R with Dura Ace, carbon everything, bars, seat, pedals, bidons... Mavic Ksyrium ES rims, Garmin sat-nav computer, etc. It owes him well over AU$10K.

Has anyone rode a Specialized Langster? But I would rather just build my own single speeder.

Looks like a nice bike. I made my own by using a White Industries eccentric hub. If you've got hills to ride with a fixie (or SS for that matter) you might want to use wider bars than what is stock on the bike. The extra leverage is REALLY nice when you're hammering up the hills.

Fixie is a lot of fun and a great way to both work on your spin and get the most out of a workout.

I live over on the Potomac so hills are not that large. I just ride up Mt Vernon parkway as training.

I have an ancient Puegot that I welded the rear hub for a fixed rider but It's toast.

Langster would be a perfect bike for that use. I commute most days on the W and OD and Custis trail between Falls Church and downtown. The hard part initially was getting the gearing right, because there are a few short, steep sections on the way home that make pussing a 46x14 a real grunt. I tend to ride a smaller gear in the winter because my joints are cold and I don't mind the extra spin.

A friend just purchased a Redline commuting bike. It is a fixie with all the goodies for commuting already installed. It is a sweet little ride for a very nice price. He's really happy with it.

Take care,

Pete
