Any mods to the civic? Auto or manual? Does the civic have Weeeetec or not?

Is Vin Diesel driving?

What distance is it over??

How many stickers from Pep Boys does the Civic have?

The common equation is 10hp/decal, and at *least* 20hp if its got some 9-foot wing on it...

I don't think the honda would have a chance.

I have driven several 4 cylinder hondas and they feel as powerful as a golf cart. Not to mention when you put your foot on the gas the computer takes about 4 seconds to respond. What a joke.

dude, stop exhadurating so much. they have no power because they aren't meant to the ex has 130 hp thats more than you can say about your 100 hp 30 years ago bmw. and it only takes a long time for it to respond because it downshifts and the honda transmitions aren't like formula 1 gear boxes but if you have a munual the throttle response is as fast as any 2002's. so shut up at least they can get down the road without breaking down. unlike our bmws

why not compare a early 1970's honda civic with an '02? Now you tell me which is the better car, and would "win".

apples to apples.

Hhaha... a little sensitive about Honda's eh? You act like I am making fun of your offspring or something. Btw.. my 02 has never once broken down. Also, once I am done with my MegaSquirted twim TWM ITB setup there will definitely be no contest between me and a stock Civic.

Why even give credibility to a civic on such a scale. The 02 was a premier racer in it's day and still holds its own in various circles can the civic tout the same. I believe it took a class in the 24hr of Lemans in '75 was a civic ever entered in such a race. Personally even if the civic is faster and more reliable it's still just a civic and always will be just a civic. I would rather have my sometimes running 02 then a 13 sec quarter mile civic anyday. A civic is still a civic by ay any other name; but an 02 ahhhh, now there is automotive history.

I recently went with a stock 2-door EX, mid-late '90s, 5-speed, heading North on 280 right around DeAnza. Because of a number of factors we started at about 50mph, and by about 70mph I was pulling away decisively. I was a little surprised. So was he.

I have a '71 with a "ti-spec" engine (9:3:1), Weber 38/38 and 4-speed with IE header and muffler.

I've had a LOT of fun against Hondas for years, starting in the late '70s with a Fiesta against countless CVCC hatchbacks. The Honda guys were always up for it and seemed like pretty nice guys.

i don't know if this counts either but FWIW I had a 91 integra with a stock 1.8l engine - only mod an al flywheel. it was way faster than my '02.

not nearly as much personality though =)

You have to put the specifics of the race into the equation.
Standing start 1/4 mile?
Fully banked oval track?
16-turn autocross course?
Effeciency run from SF to LA and back?
Amount of items you can find at Kragens to adorn your car?
Who's car gets noticed in a parking lot and starts up a conversation first?

Just don't take it to the street.
Rather than who is fast and who is slower, it is more like Dumb and Dumber.

In THAT case, the car has almost nothing to do with the equation.
It only comes down to who is more willing to take chances.

Yeah, but I have a question. At what RPM are you generating your 130hp? Is it BHP? Ps? pk? cv? Metric Or SAE horsepower? Hp(sae) hp(din) hp(ece)
is it measured on the crank or at the rear wheels.

as far as i'm concerned you are the one who should shut your goddamn mouth, do some research. I have wasted some hondas with my 02, and some have wasted me.

And this bullshit comment about breaking down. Its all about service. My 02s don't break down. I have a few problems, I've addressed them. My 02 probably has more new parts then your 96 civic. Just because you don't want to take the time or effort to properly maintain a car does not make it unreliable.

well johnputz/douche/stoolpusher, any old bucket of a honda would beat your broke ass, tired, non-running, smoke bellowing, kragen equipped piece of shit! If you spent half as much time in a haynes manuel as you do creating new screen names and posting stupid crap, you might be able to fix your own car! you can read books can't you? were you dropped on your head as a child? I work with handicapped kids with WAY more problem solving skills than you seam to posess. they have an excuse, what is yours?

I talked to the 14 year old kid down the street and he said his mom bought him the Fast and the Furious DVD for Christmas. I believe this establishes him as an expert in the JDM street drift scene. His assessment of the battle was that the Civic would prevail because the Civic will beat ANYTHING. Sounded like a reasonable assessment to me...

This reminds me of a 13 year old kid I know, he seriously thought that the "street racing" scene was like the fast and furious. I was astounded.

OK then.
For a while there it was sounding like the the former.

It's one thing to push it a bit out in the back country, I just find it stupid to do that sort of thing around neighborhoods.

Thanks for the clarification.
Now, go spank the Honda in the twisties!
