Subject: Selling / Parting my 76 2002...

it's that time... it's been my daily driver since May of 05, but there are some suspension issues, oil leaks, and just WAY too much body rot for me to drive this bad boy any longer. so i just bought a new car and i'm going to dismantle the old guy and sell his organs piece by piece, unless somebody wants the whole shebang.

I'm in Stafford Springs, CT and would love people to come by and grab what they want (pick and pull, baby), but i can also ship and won't try to make any profit on shipping. i'm not going to ship any giant parts, though :)

i'm going to list all the notable parts but really, i'm willing to pull anything and sell it. if there's something you want, EMAIL ME, and i'll take a picture for you.

here's the notable list:

2 month old OEM center resonator from BavAuto
Tokico rear shocks
weber 32/36 with no choke - k&n filter
320i Radiator
60amp Alternator - bolt in replacement
newish gas tank (under a year old)
newish front brakes

really rare Ronal Centra type 11 13" rims with warrior tires that have tons of life left. i will probably ebay these puppies, they're worth a decent amount

stock front seats - black - in good shape. no rips at all. no rear seat

center console is for a behr a/c unit. in decent shape, not great, but the front plate is in great shape.

i have a couple stock steering wheels

bmw oem steelie 13" wheels

headliner is unripped, could use a cleaning.

all glass is in decent shape.

all engine parts are up for grabs, providing i know how to find and extract it! only parts i won't sell are the ones i know aren't any good - mostly the steering box, front control arms / tie rod ends. of course all of the body panels are rusted pretty badly so unless you want scrap metal, don't bother!

it's got a 4speed manual tranny and a non-lsd rear diff.

i'm going to let most of this stuff go for ridiculously low, except the valuable parts, and those i'll sell for the first reasonable offer i get.

sad to see it go, sorta, but will be glad that its parts will be keeping other 02s together!

please email me at -- dan AT madlab DOT tv
i will check this thread often, but would prefer individual emails with requests, questions, etc...

Madvibes, Since you just bought a new car (not another 02 I take it), you know you will miss your 02 once it's gone. Buy a rust free 02 shell and transplant your parts from your rust bucket into your shell. Living in CT, you don't need to be driving an 02 in the winter with all the salt that's used to melt the snow/ice. Just my 02 cents worth.

I've seen alot of barely rusted cars that dont run. lately Theres a guy here in Venice Ca. He has an area full of cars that "someday" he'll get them going. He has at least 4 320s that dont run, and a couple of 02s. Then theres a place on Lincoln....has an Inka sitting out back. These cars dont have horrible rust issues.

Yes but they are clear across the country. We hate salt here in the Rust belt. It eats our cars and makes us sad.

On an off note you might try www.vwvortex.com for the centra 11's they will sell easy to a Golf I or Scirocco I driver.... I had them on my swallowtail golf with a jh engine back in the 80's.

unless it's in CT, in which case i might consider it, i'm gonna have to pass.

I love 02s and will own one again in the near future but this one has too many issues for me to figure out and make worth the work.

thanks for the concern though :)

If you are still going through with the dismantelling I am interested in the instrument cluster. Let me know what you want for it.

Thanks
Robert

I am interested in the "center console is for a behr a/c unit. in decent shape, not great, but the front plate is in great shape" if the a/c switches are in good working condition. Please email me offline with pics and price. Thanks. Dberman@woh.rr.com
