could you be a bit more specific? New or carefully previously used? Are you doing a square lite conversion? What year euro? ALL chrome or with rubber bump strip? With or without mounting brackets? "Shorties" or extended rear corners? Etc, etc.

Sorry to poach your post, but I'm also interested in a shortie rear bumper. I have a '73 with the correct bumper for that year currently, but am interested in going to a shorter one which sits closer to the body and has shorter corners.

Rob7502, doing the conversion will transform the look of your car. Are you ready for that? I'll bet ya if you did a search you could find pics of both styles of conversion. Then you could compare side by side. It's your car & your decision.

Grover. If you change the rear bumper to the early, "shortie" all chrome style, it won't match your '73 front bumper. Just something to consider.

Easiest combo of parts to use for a Euro bumper swap on the 74-76 is this:

1) Long rear bumper from 72-73 US car

2) 72-73 US front bumper

3) 72 or earlier US bumper brackets

4) Chrome covers to eliminate the over riders on the rear bumper

5) Euro overriders up front, or get by with a set of the point 73 US over riders.

6) Euro rear plate lights. Get these from Blunt, or the dealer, and then cut the holes in the bumper.

Really quite easy to get a hold of all that stuff.

fully agree with your suggestion Al. '72/73 bumpers. same route I am going for the conversion on my car. although I disagree about the availability... in the last 6 months of searching, I have found it difficult to find decent bumpers, not even mentioning part costs.

had a number of people asking rediculous pricing for what i'd consider scrap metal. but hey, i'm still a newbie (and i'm young 'n cheap), so that could skew my view on this.

hit or miss IMO. rarely even see early bumpers for sale these days. if it was so common and easy to do, you wouldn't be seeing so many big bumper late model's anymore, a lot even very modded examples that havent done the conversion.

I may just be a bit jaded. I have at least 2 full complete sets of bumpers(one early and one late) 15' from me right now, as well as a recently re-chromed, ready to assemble set of 73 bumpers, a set of E9 Euro bumpers, and a brand new set of E21 Euro bumpers for my 323i. Hmmm, maybe I'll hang onto all of them a little longer!

Just to note that the parts are easy to find, but the conversion is not simple. It takes a good amount of metal work, and paint to do it right. That's why you don't see it done very often. I just sold a 76 rolling shell with ZERO rust, brand new Euro nose(small bumper ready), brand new OEM fenders, rear converted to Euro, and a sunroof. Sold it for $800CDN.

I might be, yes. I'm going to hang onto my shorty set, as they are very nice, and I might need them for a 67 1600. The 73 set is slightly less than perfect, but quite nice, all straight, and complete. Shoot me an email, and we can probably work something out.
