I usually drink Yuengling (sp?) because it's cheap and good, but if I have a few more bucks in my pocket, I'll go with New Castle (yum).

Tried a heavy gravity (higher alcohol) beer called Rasputen the other day. Similar to Guinness, but with more flavor. If you get a chance, try it.

Cheers

Paulaner Octoberfest brew (will have you nude running down the street in just over a twelve pack + plus all your friends will hate you the next day because all the nasty stuff you said about their wives/girlfriends), Anstel Light (great if you need to do stuff the next day), but HACKER-PSCHORR WEISSEBIER is my favorite!

Mine.

Although I did recently drink one of Steve K's brews and some Peruvian beer that I got from Jan.

Just picked up a Bavarian wheat mix that I will brew up after the holidays.

Here in Ohio and maybe neighboring states there is Great Lakes Dortmunder and Holy (Cleveland) Moses. I'm always amazed how good Great Lakes beer is.

HIGHLY RECOMENDED

Been in Louisville (KY) for two days now and I miss the Dortmunder. Sigh!

If you like Guiness then you will love Sam Adams Cream Stout. Newcastle Brown Ale is great when it's hot out.

Is that a real thing? Beer and ice cream...kind weird combo.

Anyone else think Hoegaarden (sp?) has a 'juicy fruit gum' aftertaste?

I got one of the locals turned onto Great Lakes Brewing when I was visiting(for work) back around '89 or so. He had no idea that there was good beer and good food all in one place in his hometown. Are they still over on Market Street?

Funniest thing was that I bought a six pack(Burning River ale I think) to bring home and needed to keep it cold (unpastuerized, you know). I just plopped it in the snow bank outside my hotel window for the night- kept it plenty cold until I could get a cooler for my carry-on luggage.

Steve,
I uncapped one of your beers and then dropped in a carbonation drop and recapped. It did put some fizz back into it. I may try the others and give them a touch more time to see.

Beer, like 02's should never be written off.
You have to at least try to salvage them.

Steve, I just waited it out. Opened one yeaterday and it was good. Two more are waiting in the fridge. They will be sampled tonight.

I still have a lager waiting for new years eve.
