I saw this post from Ben (below) about a wiki.
Well, my webhost lets me install a wiki, so I have done so. All I did is install the wiki and add a logo, and some placeholder text on the main page.
If there is any interest in having a wiki, here you go. Have at it. If anyone is a seasoned wiki user, Please start this off with some contributions!
I'm not sure of the best way to organize the wiki, so if someone wants to step up and set up some categories, please do. Anyone can register and edit the knowlege base.
If nobody cares, and the wiki languishes, or if the general consensus is that the BMW section of wikipedia suffices, then so be it, it was quick for me to set up.
On the other hand, if it takes off, Steve K, maybe you will want to integrate it into the FAQ
the 02 wiki beta:

Lately I've been using Wikipedia a lot. It is a very interesting website - it's a free-content online encyclopedia. Anybody can write or edit any article (with a few limitations), but the idea is that the community writes the content. Check it out at
www.wikipedia.org.
There are quite a few Wiki engines out there, like PHP Wiki:
http://phpwiki.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/
I think this site could benefit from having a wiki. For example, when somebody posts a very informative message about how to convert E30 door brakes to an 02, it could be added to the wiki. When somebody else improves on the design or comes up with an alternative, it could also be instantly added to the wiki. Vandalism is possible, but anybody can revert a document to its previous state if vandalism occurs (which would probably be pretty rare, but you know who I'm worried about).
If you don't understand the concept, go to Wikipedia and look up a few of your favorite topics. You'll probably learn something you didn't know. Then, add to the page.
It was just an idea I had last night, but I think it would be worth a shot. Sometimes it is very tedious to search the archives to find what you want, and it is probably tough on the site admins to write new FAQ articles. And those of us who don't know the tech info can fix spelling mistakes and whatnot.
Comments please!
