1. A 1976 530i 4-speed with what looks like a 3.3 engine from a 1980 733i. Fat sway bars. BBS wheels. Lowered. Shot shocks. White with blue interior. Goes like stink.
1975 2002 automatic. This thing was under a tree for 5 years and looks it. I had to travel to some far away place through miles of treacherous dirt roads in the midle of nowhere to fetch this non-runner. I even had to disassemble the brakes because it was a non-roller either. But body is straight, the car is complete with no rust and the paint is actually in pretty decent shape. And for $150, I could not pass it up. Parts car or reassemble? I haven't decided yet.

Crazy I tell you. Rebuild it, there are a lot of us that would love to have a rust "free" 02, but because of where we are at, it just can't happen without traveling very far.

Of course if you want any of the good parts it is your choice to strip the car down, just don't crush it, give it a chance.

Pierre,

I'm glad you snagged the 75 02 I told you about, finders fee is you owe me a cold one some time. Does it have a sunroof? What color is it? From the CL ad, I was guessing Sienna Braun.

As for the 75 E12 you picked up, that was a score. Best of all, it's smog exempt here in CA. That reminds me of a former car I had, a 73 Bavaria that the PO had dropped in a 3.3L and 4 speed from a 79 E24 and converted it to EFI. That car would run. I bought it complete with Alpina wheels and drove it home for $400. The guys wife hated the car, she looked real high maintenance and didn't want to be seen in an old car. My gain, his loss. The Bav did need paint and some body work. Coupeking in LA has the car now but I've got the Alpina's on another E3 of mine.

Subject: Thanks Gordon for the contact, Car was in Refugio

and it turned out to be a 74, not a 75, no sunroof, Chamonix white with blue interior. It looked Sienna brown from the accumulation of tree deposits. I think that's what saved the paint. Even the dash is pretty nice with very few cracks. Yes I owe you more than just a cold one.
The 530i is a 1976. Therfore it's NOT smog exempt unfortunately. But it came with a smog certificate which showed some pretty nice low numbers. The car has a cat on it and an oxygen sensor. So I am taking my chances.
