I'm Service Manager @ a BMW dealer here in the UK, and yesterday we had a proper car in the workshop and for a change it wasn't one of mine. It was a '74 Touring that was in for a thermostat change under parts warranty, and as the apprentice isn't allowed to drive I did the test drive. I remembered how good a standard car can be, because though it was tatty, the steering & suspension felt good and it pulled like a train-and it went much better after I adjusted the thottle linkage to give full throttle. Forget the M3 or X5 I was also driving yesterday, this car made my day. Standard spec here we come!

As it was in the UK, that means the steering wheel was on the "correct" side!

Now that's pretty cool! I've seen an E-12 now and then at our local BMW dealership, the guy might still have it serviced there. Do you still have your 2000 Andy?

Tim.

Tim, yes I do & I drove it on Sunday, along with most of the rest of the "collection", moving cars around for the winter. We don't see anything old in here anymore, but upstairs our Chairman keeps his 3.0CSL, Isetta, 2002 Turbo, Z1 and his 1940 327 Cabriolet.
