I have a Rowenta. Worth every penny, great sole plate. Mine has seen a lot of use in the last 5 years.

We like our Oreck, it came with our vacuum but I think you can buy them seperately. It is the cordless one and we have had it 2 years and have not had a problem with it. _________________ Lars

I've had a Proctor Silex for about 3 years now, bought the thing at "Big Lots", not even $20.00. I only use it once a week or so though as it's just me, myself, and my labrador retriever ( he can't iron by the way, knows how to get into cookies though ) in my house. My folk's have had a Rowenta for quite a while, few years at least.

I always have liked the irons you heat via fire.... Seriously though they still work after 200 years! A modern way to use them is set them on the kitchen burner for awhile, then get a spray bottle and go to town.

And bought a Rowenta Arti Press iron. Not bad for less than 50 bucks. I'll admit I was hesitant to purchase a iron priced over 30 bucks but wife said "why the heck not". She's great, isn't she?
First impressions:
Light, smooth (nice sole plate)
Not as hot as my old B&D Classic and also the ergonomics isn't as great as I'd like it to be (my big fat fingers keep hitting the sensitive water spray button).
Other than that I like it so far.
