can you adapt the bosch 009 mech advance distributor of an air cooled vw to an '02? i think you have to change the shaft to the bmw's gear type? btw they are half the price of a new 008/002 bosch for '02's

the VW dist. has an offset key where it installs to the dist. drive. Therefore she only fits in 1 way, this allows them to machine #3 lobe at an offset. Why not take a stock dist and convert it over to a fully mechanical advance
