Closing the loop......I installed the switch (61 31 1 352 636) while enroute from VA back to California a few days ago, and it was the correct part for my 72tii.

My May 72 production tii has the switch with the parking light/ignition off feature. If I recall correctly from last time I had the wheel and shroud/covers off, the plug to the harness is white.
