Yes You will now have metal on metal with no rubber buffering the top plate to the body. Have some extra gussets welded on the bottom of the tube to the spindle carrier

I'm so glad I went with a S14 block combined with an Evo crank when I built my 2.5 liter The Evo crank adds the extra .2 in displacement but adds much more in bottom end torque.
