there is not a right or wrong answer here, it is personal preference. I like both, but again I have two cars- one with a 284 and the other with a 292, I guess that is why BMW came up with double vanos ...

screw it in to rich it - screw it out to lean it.

Keep a note book, it only takes about a quarter of turn to fix things.

The speedo does indeed use a magnetic field to spin the needle up. There is also a small, delicate spring to return the pointer to 0 and provide some linearity to the movement of the needle.
