With it being so inconsitant I would say that it is a vacum leak. Put some water in a spray bottle and spray all the gaskets on the intake manifold and see if the idle changes if so you have a leak.

If it is 75 you will have no problem with smog I just registered mine after a lengthy rebuild and was worried about smog. Smog starts 1976 on.

If you are running Pertronix dont worry about the resistor it was just there to reduce the voltage to the points to keep them from frying.

Did you hook your tach back up yet I'm tellin ya I had the same problem after I hooked mine up backwards. Chased my tail for a whole day before it daned on me.

I believe that I have seen a posi conversion that would work some where but it was a whole lot more than any sane person would spen somthing like 2500 dollars just for the spool.

[. You will need a special pulley with the trigger wheel on it. As far as I know they aren't commercially produced for M-10s. Check out www.millersmule.com
