MAC address filtering is an important piece of the puzzle, but remember that a cheap wireless sniffer can pick out the MAC out of the air and the hacker can then use this MAC for access next time.

| I don't know about the location, but I'd guess that wrapping plastic around the heat-sink fins on it would definitely defeat the purpose of them. They need some air flow to get rid of the heat. |

Our E46 has a build date of 12/98. The instrument cluster SII reset procedure doesn't work. Also, trying the reset pins 7 and 19 on the round diagnostic connector didn't work last time ... |

| Nope. The devices itself just receives timing signals from GPS satellites, and determines your location from the differences in the signals. There's no monthly subscription or anything. |
