I'm a big fan of keeping the original color despite the non-matching numbers thing.

I don't recommend black for acouple reasons:

First is, it gets hot and the 2002s poor ventilation especially ...

Sherman (on the board) sells a machined spacer for the E23/E24 alternators.

I picked up a 80A or 90A from a later E23 that I will install at some point.

I'm just wondering if having a 90A altern ...

65A should be enough according to several sources. Early cars had 35-45A.
