You probably wired the starter wrong.
I agree, this is probably what's wrong. i just went through this on my car since I did an engine swap. You could try turning the key on then arcing the start ... |

| I believe the washer relay is on the firewall, close to the coil. It's a small cylinder shaped unit. |

If the pad behind the starter doesn't have a clear stamping on it,
I bet it's a factory rebuild or replacement.
What series (121, E12, E21, 1.8) is the head?
With rebuilds, it's always a crapsh ... |

Anyone know why the average for a '71 02 is ~13K and a '71 tii is ~9K? Seems odd.

$350-400 is probably a bit high, even though they are nice seats. IMHO, if you can get $300 you've done pretty well, might have to settle for a bit less say $200-250, or maybe barter something.
