1. jack up car, place on stands (wheels at least 3-5" off ground) & remove wheels

2. disconnect swaybar links, unbolt calipers & rigid brake lines from their mounts on the strut and hang 'em out of the way (don't let 'em dangle from their hoses)

3.  remove the three nuts that hold the strut bearing to the body shell, and push down on the strut assy to move it down below the inner fender line.  Then step on the lower suspension arm (it helps to have a friend here) until the top of the strut assy can clear the top of the fender opening.  Then it will be hanging by its ball joint outside the fender.

4.  Compress the spring (be careful doing this), then remove the large nut atop the front shock, and then remove the upper strut bearing, the spacers, washers and upper spring cups.  Now the spring can be removed from the strut, and the spring compressors CAREFULLY removed.

When reassembling, MAKE SURE you get all the washers, spacers etc back in the correct order, put fresh grease on the upper bearings (replace if the rubber's gone bad), and put it back in reverse order.

If you haven't done front suspension bushings and/or ball joints, now's the time...check archives for additional instructions.
