Keiths solution has a low spot in the hose that could collect gunk from above or stuff slung in by the wheels and potentially clog. I thought long and hard on this when rebuilding my car and looked in the rockers and they were fine in the drain area.  maybe the factory guys wanted to find a spot that would not be exposed so as to reduce the chance of rot taking hold. Lots of experience here on the faq and many have more than I so I'm throwing this out for discussion.[/quote]
