Day 4 - Interior
so here it is, the boring task of taking the interior out, we were going to wait for a sunny weekend to do this, however it being the UK and it nearly being winter.. we could have been waiting a while!
Managed to wrangle some help from James again and my old man popped along too.
The front seats came out without any issues and we started tearing up the dirty old sodden carpets! YUK
HOLEY Moley! hahaha these are by far the worst part of the car at the moment, very rusty and damp. any suggestions as to what to lay down as protections after the new pans have been fitted??
going for a new set of black carpets once im done with everything else, want the cockpit to look as good as the outside.
dad looks on as james wrestles with the back seats! slightly trickier than the fronts however with a little help from the forum (thankyou!) we whipped them mothers out and popped them away on a shelf with the fronts.
the seats are probably the only part of the car which will remain untouched as they are in great condition.
The new steering wheel! i went for a more traditional steering wheel as i didnt feel the grip royal one really suited the style i was going for. its just a temporary measure for now, i will strip it down and give it a nice refurb before the end (any tips to the best way of doing this???)
a shot of the rear, wasnt tooo rough underneath the seats, although there has been some questionable work to get the rear inertia seatbelts fitted.
more moody downlit shots of the car, loving how much we've managed to achieve so quickly, and im so excited for whats to come!
we wheeled the mutt back in and had a celebratory beer!
the next step will be more sanding and grinding (fun)
